Leow Cheng Siang

Borned in Kuala Terengganu in 1982, Leow Cheng Siang completed his primary and secondary education in 2001 before pursuing his tertiary study in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2002. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) (Civil) from USM in 2006. Upon graduation, he joined REDAC as a project assistant on 1st September 2006. On 1st November 2007, he was appointed as a Research Officer in REDAC, in which he continues to serve the centre and university to date.


Leow’s scope of work in REDAC is mainly as a hydrological and hydraulic computer modeller for urban drainage. A part from this, he also obtained relevant exposure and knowledge on Geography Information System (GIS) and its application in the field of river engineering and urban drainage. Being a nature lover, his main research interest is the application of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) in Malaysia to promote rehabilitation and restoration of nature environment within urban development. To date, he is actively involved in urban drainage research and consultancy works in REDAC and has managed to publish several journal and conference papers.
